To kick off the Campaign, the BCCF (Battle Creek Community Foundation) recommended supporting a sustainable endeavor that would help promote this long-lasting endowment fund. The Committee consulted the BCACS (Battle Creek Area Catholic Schools) and found a list of projects that qualify! We got excited when it was discovered that the original artist, Charles Rose from the Class of 1970, painted the huge 14’x11’ canvas tiger that is still mounted on the center of the north wall today in the St. Philip “Shelia Guerra” Gymnasium! Charles painted this domineering figure in 1969 and the years have taken its toll on this legendary icon! And yes, Charles Rose is willing to donate some of his time, and we have already found corporate & private sponsors to minimize this $20,000 endeavor to less than $5,000! The response has been overwhelming!
